Hold in production of Chevrolet Corvette

GM confirmed that the production of the Chevrolet Corvette has been delayed for a week due to a shorted parts supply issue brought up by the covid-19 pandemic. This pandemic has been a curse over the automobile industry.

A spokesperson from GM confirmed that it is expected to last only the week and the production will resume on Monday, October 19. What we have heard that GM could begin to produce mid-engine Corvette without the parts that are in short supply, suggesting that the missing component is either part of the package or a standalone upgrade. However, it doesn’t go with GM’s decision to pause the production of the C8 Corvette for a week.

Chevrolet’s previous plan was to end the production of the 2020 Corvette in November but due to delay in production because of the labor stoppage then COVID and now this so the production is extended to the end of 2020 to fulfill customer demand. However, how this is going to affect 2021 production is still in the air as Chevrolet hasn’t announced when 2021 production will end.

2,700 2020 Chevrolet Corvette was confirmed as of May and 12,634 2020 Corvette in the first three quarters has been delivered. Let’s see by the end of fourth-quarter how many 2020 Corvettes will be delivered.
